I’m a licensed Massage Therapist, Board Certified Structural Integrator, and certified Realization Process Teacher. My pronouns are expansively and fluidly (He/Him)
I use integrative bodywork and embodied experiential inquiry as an invitation for the body to be coaxed toward a more optimal state of existence. As an intuitive and analytical practitioner, I’m interested in the forces that dictate how we shape our bodies in relation to ourselves and others, and also how we arrange our bodies in gravity—the forces that affect our posture and the motion of our limbs as we walk, run, dance, gesture, and sit. I see my clients as whole beings rather than as a collection of symptoms or dysfunctions. I approach care as a collaboration with the client, and I firmly believe in the body’s innate wisdom. I love working with people who are interested in cultivating a deeper internal awareness of themselves and sharing in the mutual curiosity that arises during this sort of practice. My goal is to empower people to achieve wellness on their own through increased embodied self-awareness and relational understanding.
The systems of power that harm us such as patriarchy, capitalism, racism and sexism show up in our bodies as lived experiences, thought patterns, beliefs and expectations. These beliefs and expectations are passed down through generations of families and social circles (often at the expense of less privileged bodies). These systems of oppression culminate in what we call culture. White privilege, ableism and gender discrimination are things many of us still remain blind to. I’m interested in the intersection of somatic depth work and how these toxic manifestations show up in our lives on a personal and relational level with our friends, family, lovers, teachers, and healthcare practitioners.
The hands-on healing and somatic integration I practice is informed by non dual inquiry practices, osteopathic modalities such as nerve and artery mobilization, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, and cranial sacral therapy. It touches on both the anatomical and physio-emotional dimensions that arise during this sort of work. For most of my career, I’ve practiced working with people who are fully feeling/highly sensitive folks with histories of chronic pain due to (what are often confusing overlapping diagnosis) such as anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, lyme disease, repetitive stress injuries or depression, to name only a few. Many of my clients also have a history of relational trauma. I am skilled at creating a safe and compassionate space for healing through and being in relationship to those experiences. I do this by listening intently to your verbal and nonverbal communication, clarifying whether you are feeling safe and comfortable before asking you to do something or proceeding with my hands-on care.
I am a committed embodied non dual meditation practitioner, dancer/mover, and I have taught both meditation and contact improvisation in my local community as well as abroad, at the Embodiment Festival. My practice continues to be informed by embodied spiritual practices, my understanding of biomechanics, and love of natural movement and play. I invite anyone who is considering working with me to read through what previous clients have said about their experience on my testimonial page.
